What is the The Journal?
The Shepherdess International Journal is a publication specifically written for the clergy spouse. It is published quarterly by Shepherdess International, which is an entity of the General Conference Ministerial Association. Shepherdess International exists to support and nurture the wives of clergy.
Circulation
The Journal is published in English, French, Spanish, and Russian. It has a circulation of approximately 10,000 worldwide.
Types of Articles The Journal Publishes
Articles or stories should be relevant and particularly geared to pastoral spouses, reflecting their interests, challenges, blessings, etc.
Articles or stories may focus on a variety of topics, including:
Articles and stories should not reflect personal agendas, minute theological debates, or cultural lifestyle issues.
Writing with an International Awareness
Because this is an international journal, articles and stories should be relevant to a variety of cultures.
Submissions may be written in any major language; we will have the articles translated.
Length
Articles or stories should be no longer than four typed, double-spaced or it may be four handwritten, single-spaced pages.
Style and Submission
Please include your mailing and email address: U.S. writers must also include their social security number (required for payment). Should also submit a three- or four-sentence bio and a photo of yourself if possible. Photos can be returned at the author’s request.
Payment
Upon acceptance, authors will be paid an honorarium which will come through a division treasury transfer to his/her local conference; payment will be given to the author in local currency.
